Sandfield CMS now powered by Lucene

The search features in our CMS EyeSite are now powered by Lucene.  Lucene is an enterprise search platform, used by sites such as LinkedIn and MySpace.

We researched many different search technologies along the way, and were excited by the high speed and overall flexibility that Lucene gives us. 

Similar to Search Engine Optimisation, the search results can be reviewed and tuned to make sure the search terms people are entering are returning the best results.  I'm sure this will result in some interesting and possibly comical analysis... "they searched what!".
